Job Description Job Description Our client, a small private family office based on the Peninsula is seeking an experienced and highly collaborative Controller to oversee all accounting, financial reporting, and compliance functions for the family and its affiliated entities. This role supports a select group of entities, including trusts and LLCs, and requires a hands-on accounting leader who is comfortable operating both strategically and in the day-to-day details. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity for a professional who thrives in a discreet, high-touch, and fast-moving environment. This role is a partial-remote position with monthly onsite requirements on the Peninsula. Key Responsibilities: Own and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and investment reporting for trusts and LLCs across multiple banks, brokerage accounts, and investment vehicles Manage cash flow, bill pay, capital calls, distributions, and day-to-day accounting operations Serve as the primary accounting lead, supervising and reviewing the work of senior and staff accountants as applicable Ensure compliance and reporting for LLCs registered in multiple states Prepare and respond to ad hoc financial, investment, and liquidity reporting requests from principals Lead and support long-term initiatives, including implementation and optimization of investment and accounting reporting systems Support major transactions such as asset acquisitions/dispositions, purchases or sales, and investment subscription documentation Partner closely with household staff, external vendors, and professional advisors Prepare tax schedules and coordinate with tax advisors on filings, payments, and planning Collaborate with attorneys, tax professionals, investment managers, aviation specialists, and other trusted advisors to ensure seamless execution and exceptional outcomes Qualifications: 7 years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience Prior experience in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role Family office experience strongly preferred; small business or private client accounting experience also considered CPA preferred Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage competing priorities in a confidential environment Strong analytical skills with the ability to operate at both a strategic and detailed level Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a polished, client-facing presence Compensation: 200,000 – 250,0000 depending on experience You can use www.workgrades.com to collect and manage your references for free and share them with us or anyone else you choose.
