Position SummaryThe Expanded Learning Opportunities Program
(ELO-P) has provided state funding for afterschool and school
enrichment programs for transitional kindergarten through eighth
grade. "Expanded learning" means before school, after school, and
intersession learning programs that focus on developing the
academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of
pupils through hands-on, engaging learning experiences. It is the
intent of the Legislature that expanded learning programs are
pupil-centered, results-driven, include community partners, and
complement learning activities in the regular school day and school
year.The Expanded Learning Program Director will lead the build-out
and execution of our Stockton schools' efforts to provide
high-quality expanded programming for our school beyond the
traditional school day. Reporting directly to the School Leaders,
and working closely with the Regional Associate Director of
Expanded Learning, the ELO-P Director will be responsible for
leading and expanding the regular school day curriculum into the
expanded day and year; including the development of community
partnerships, alignment of systems and operations, and with
required enrollment composition and fiscal compliance.Preferred
QualificationsExperience:
- Prior experience working in a school-based setting in a
leadership position
- Experience in curriculum or academic/after school program
design
- At least three (3) years of experience as a successful
manager
- Bilingual-Spanish strongly preferred but not requiredEducation:
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience
and/or administrative experience in a K-12 setting or equivalent
preferredKnowledge/skills required:
- Excellent project management, change management, interpersonal,
and leadership skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with
colleagues and administrators
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team, especially with
parents and community members
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and make
decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment in
decision-making
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Demonstrated experience planning and facilitating professional
development programs
- Ability to evaluate the big picture and anticipate issues
needing resolution
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting
- Competent in educational technology
- Strong working knowledge in all Microsoft Office programs
(Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google SuiteEssential Functions and
Responsibilities
- Assess the current status of existing afterschool and/or
expanded programming to align to the new ELO-P requirements and
implement in alignment with school's academic programming
- Hire, supervise, oversee, schedule, and evaluate all ELO-P, and
expanded learning staff members
- Plan and implement curriculum and schedule for expanded
programs, including afterschool and intersession programming,
off-site field trips
- Provide professional development for ELO-P site staff to
reinforce school-wide expectations and necessary health, safety,
and emergency protocols
- Implement systems for expanded attendance reporting and
progress monitoring
- Collaborate with the region to design and implement enrichment
activities for all expanded learning programs to include ELO-P
(includes ASES)
- Complete compliance reporting, such as nutrition, budget, and
other program reports
- Develop and coordinate relationships with external partners
(foundations, community organizations, CDE, etc.)
- Evaluate and work collaboratively with school site team to
design/select curriculum and instructional materials that support
the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical needs of all
students
- Identify students who are academically at-risk and initiate
effective intervention strategies
- Lead analysis and program progress monitoring, reporting and
aligning regularly to School Leaders and regional initiatives
- Responsible for outreach and providing key information and
updates to all stakeholders through various mediums
- Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of
ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.Physical,
Mental and Environmental DemandsPhysical: Ability to navigate
office and school campuses, and hold meetings in different spaces.
Traditionally, much of the day involves sitting. Ability to access
and utilize technology. Occasional lifting/carrying of equipment
between 1-20 lbs. Physical agility to move self in various
positions in order to execute duties effectively, which may include
kneeling, walking, pushing/pulling, squatting, twisting, turning,
bending, stooping, and reaching overhead.Mental: Stress of
deadlines and normal work standards, ability to analyze problems
and generate alternatives, work with interruptions, concentrate for
long periods of time, read, calculate, perform routine math
problems, memorize and recall objects and people.Environmental:
School and classroom environment subject to constant interruptions
and distractions. Adhere to KIPP's health and safety guidelines as
outlined by the CDC, CDE, and public health agencies'
recommendations.ClassificationThis is a full-time, exempt position
based on a full year calendar cycle and time off, located at KIPP
