S/he will support various aspects of the eBay strategy development, working closely with eBay's Executive Team. S/he will work with key stakeholders across the organization to design strategies and mobilize the specific recommendations into action. The successful candidate will have the ability to influence and drive alignment globally as well as working closely with our ELT.This is a critical executive position within eBay. The ideal candidate will operate at a high level of influence, intellectual curiosity, exhibit superior analytical skills, demonstrate effective communication skills, and bring a proven ability to work with and lead teams. S/he will have the communication skills and confidence to lead effective strategy discussions across eBay.. The ideal candidate has a track record of making pragmatic, actionable recommendations with real world implementation experience. S/he will have the ability to lead and inspire a team of smart and driven professionals. As with any position at this level within eBay, this executive must be comfortable driving multiple initiatives at a rapid pace and making pragmatic recommendations with limited information.Responsibilities:

• Market and Competitive Analysis: Develop insightful market intelligence about key industry trends (technology, competitors, consumers, regulatory, etc.) and inform the organization of their strategic implications.
• Problem Solving: Drive business judgment, market understanding, and fact-based analysis to identify, prioritize, structure, and solve complex business problems.
• Strategy Development: Develop the strategies for eBay to differentiate itself in the market. This will include creating the strategies, developing the key initiatives to support the strategies and working closely with key eBay constituencies to gain buy-in.
• Support development of executive-level communications at all levels of the company, including the Board of Directors
• Strategy Mobilization: Work with the eBay organization as needed to support mobilization and implementation of the business strategies.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a talented and driven strategy team in the development and execution of strategic initiatives.
• Communication: Support the communication effort to keep eBay's CEO, Jamie Iannone , and the executive team informed as to the strategic direction and initiatives within the group. Support the broader organizational communication of the strategy as needed.
• Organizational Alignment: Partner with the regional business units, product and technology leaders, finance and M&A/corporate development, to ensure alignment with overall corporate strategy.Job Requirements:
  • Proven thought leader with expertise in technology, ideally in e-commerce, retail and/or consumer facing products is highly desirable.
  • Skilled in strategy development, including project scoping, hypotheses development, financial and business modeling, strategic options identification, organizational alignment, and implementation.
  • Creativity and "out of the box" thinking that drives innovation. The ability to "see around corners" and "connect the dots" to enable leaders to proactively drive the business, not just respond to it.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to communicate strategy clearly and simply. Ease with executive-level interactions - ability to distill complex business issues and strategies to highlight insights and actionable recommendations in a concise and persuasive manner. Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a talented and driven strategy team in the development and execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Qualifications:
  • 12+ years of work experience preferred. Experience working for a top tier strategy consulting firm is a requirement.
  • BS/BA degree, MBA or Engineering degree preferred with significant academic achievements, including academic awards and other recognitions.
  • Proven leadership experience in leading and mentoring a high performing team.The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:$250,000 - $333,800Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
