If you have a calling for service, we encourage you to apply!Positions available:AM/PM Shift - 7:00 am - 3:00 pm and 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, days will varyMust work a 4/2 schedule - 4 days on, 2 days offWe are a 24/7 facility therefore one must be able to work weekends and holidays as required. All applicants are required to complete and pass a drug screening, physical exam with tuberculosis (TB) skin test, and criminal clearance through FBI and Department of Justice. The background search includes minor misdemeanors and DUIs.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Develop an individual, written care plan which indicates the care to be given.Supervise direct care of residents and nursing personnel on his/her shift which includes CNA/LVN staff.Administer direct care as necessary.Ensure that nursing care is provided according to established standards and policies.Ensure that all medications and treatments are performed and documented properly.Administer medications by means of oral, external, injections, and intravenous methods and follow established policy & procedures for medication administration.Administer treatments, including but not limited to; dressings, catheterization, suctioning, oxygen, skin assessments, etc.QUALIFICATIONS:NEW GRADS OK!Currently licensed in the State of California as a Registered Nurse, current CPR certification, geriatric/rehabilitative experience preferred with a good understanding of restorative nursingSupervisory experience preferred but will trainStrong leadership and hospitality skillsAbility to read, speak and write the English language in order to understand instructions and communicate effectively with residents and staff.Excellent Interpersonal and Social Skills in order to work effectively with residents, patients, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, subordinates and other outside contacts.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Physical demands require mobility about the unit with indirect resident care involving standing, bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, twisting, and reaching.Must be able to transport residents via wheelchair, gerichair, and/or shower chair pushing up to 150 pounds unassisted on a frequent basis.Must be able to lift 50 pounds on an occasional basis, assisting other nurses with repositioning, occasional toileting, etc.Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during fire/life, emergency or disaster situations, which may include very heavy lifting (in excess of 50lbs).Work in clean, well-lit, sanitary environment with frequent interruptions.Must be subjected to offensive odors and combative behavior.May be exposed to verbal and physical abuse by residents.May be exposed to blood and body fluids, which may contain HIV and or HBV. Baywood Court Health Center has defined this position as Category I due to the level of contact and probability of exposure to blood and other body fluids.
