Experience: Minimum of 2 years required for submission License:
Valid state license required Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE
Must-Have: Experience in Level I Nursery and NICU with Post Partum
experience Description: Provides care based on the age-related
needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Considers development and psychosocial needs, environmental safety,
education needs, communication style, and level of understanding.
Accesses only the minimum amount of information necessary to care
for the patient. Patient care includes administration of blood and
blood products, antihypertensives, antiseizure medication, and IV
antibiotics. Assists with circumcision and assesses the site
post-op. Adheres to baby-friendly protocols and conducts car seat
education. Manages stable newborns, including those with
hypoglycemia and those requiring feeding assistance. Conducts pain
assessment and management for neonates. Performs bladder
assessments and Foley catheter insertion when necessary. Provides
discharge teaching to parents. Handles postpartum hemorrhage and
pregnancy-induced hypertension. Utilizes clinical protocols for
infant identification, cord care, thermoregulation, and vaccine
administration. Monitors and manages infants requiring CPAP,
UVC/UAC lines, and IV therapy. Stabilizes and prepares infants for
transfer to a higher level of care as needed. Collaborates with
interdisciplinary support services, including respiratory services
and social services. Maintains compliance with infection control
and isolation precautions. Participates in continuous professional
development and education related to pediatric care.
