Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Job Details Position Type: Locum tenens, travel contract Location: Oakland, CA 94605 (California healthcare jobs) Practice Setting: Outpatient primary care clinic Contract Length: 13 weeks (option to extend) Start Date: March 2, 2026 End Date: June 1, 2026 Estimated Weekly Pay: $3,610 – $3,870 Schedule: 4 shifts per week, 8-hour day shifts (8:30am – 5:00pm) Hours per Week: 32 Patient Volume: 20 adult patients per day (primarily return visits) Support Staff: 2 Registered Nurses (RNs), 1 Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), and a Medical Assistant (MA) per provider EMR: Epic Call Requirements: None Nurse Practitioner Qualifications Active California Nurse Practitioner license (required for California nurse practitioner jobs) DEA registration with Schedule II authority in California BLS certification 2-3 years of recent outpatient primary care experience Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience Experience with vulnerable populations or safety net communities preferred Spanish-speaking skills highly preferred Credentialing timeframe: 90-120 days Must meet all pre-employment health and immunization requirements (TB, MMR, Hepatitis B, Tdap, COVID-19, Influenza, physical exam, color vision, drug screening) Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities Provide acute and chronic disease management for adult patients (18) Deliver urgent primary care and clinical support for immediate healthcare needs Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team (RNs, LVN, MA) Utilize Epic EMR for accurate documentation and patient management Promote patient-centered care in a supportive clinic environment Serve a diverse patient population, addressing health disparities in the Oakland healthcare community Apply now to join our Oakland healthcare team and discover rewarding nurse practitioner jobs in California primary care!
