As part of the Telecare Family, Redwood Place is a Mental health Rehabilitation Center (MHRC) serving adult residents ages 18+ who have been diagnosed with a severe mental illness and a developmental disability.
Employment Status: On-Call
Shift: All Shifts as needed
Days: Varies as needed
The Food Service Worker assists in the preparation, assembly, and of food within the facility. In addition, the Food Service Worker ensures that the facility's' dietary and dining room areas are clean and meet sanitary regulations at all times.
Demonstrates the Telecare mission, purpose, values, and beliefs in everyday language and contact with internal and external stakeholders
Performs tasks correctly and according to policies and procedures
Thoroughly and consistently performs the following food service tasks
o Loads and tends the dish washing machine
o Hand washes non-machine equipment
o Assembles prepared food
o Delivers and stores clean dishes, pots and utensils in the appropriate area
o Assists in the preparation of salads and desserts
o Delivers food to service areas of members served
o Assists in serving meals to members served in the cafeteria
o Obtains necessary supplies from food storage, the refrigerator, and the freezer
o Stocks food supplies and food preparation equipment in storage areas
o Performs assigned cleaning tasks
Demonstrates knowledge and proper use of equipment and supplies
Continually focuses on assigned tasks and seeks and implements improvements as necessary
Understands and demonstrates the safety program in all activities
Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, and/or changed at the discretion of management.
Willingness to perform tasks on a continuous basis and to maintain the specified flow of work
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment
All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification. If the position requires driving, valid driver license, a motor vehicle clearance, and proof of auto insurance is required at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment. Additional regulatory, contractual, or local requirements may apply.
One (1) year of experience working in the field of food service
Ability to read and speak English in order to follow written and verbal directions
Good communication skills and a desire to work with
The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is occasionally required to sit, push, pull, squat, kneel, and lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds or less as well as to frequently walk, bend, twist, reach, and do simple and power grasping. The position requires manual deviation, repetition, and dexterity and to constantly stand as well as Hazardous Exposure (Blood Borne Pathogens, Hospital Waste, Chemical and Infectious).
