Job Description:
About Us: At Parafin, we’re on a mission to grow small
businesses. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, but
traditional banks often don’t have their backs. We build tech that
makes it simple for small businesses to access the financial tools
they need through the platforms they already sell on. We partner
with companies like DoorDash, Amazon, Worldpay, and Mindbody to
offer fast and flexible funding, spend management, and savings
tools to their small business users via a simple integration.
Parafin takes on all the complexity of capital markets,
underwriting, servicing, compliance, and customer service for our
partners. We’re a tight-knit team of innovators hailing from
Stripe, Square, Plaid, Coinbase, Robinhood, CERN, and more — all
united by a passion for building tools that help small businesses
succeed. Parafin is backed by prominent venture capitalists
including GIC, Notable Capital, Redpoint Ventures, Ribbit Capital,
and Thrive Capital. Parafin is a Series C company, and we have
raised more than $194M in equity and $340M in debt facilities. Join
us in creating a future where every small business has the
financial tools they need. About the Position: At Parafin, Product
Engineers are the implemented product experts. We bridge design,
product, and backend, which means we're responsible for making sure
everything actually works the way it should. We are care about
things beyond the specs like understanding why features exist, who
uses them, and what problems they solve. You'll own the entire
frontend: every transition, every edge case, every state change
that happens between a user's action and what appears on their
screen. You don't need to know our exact stack coming in, but you
should be strong with JavaScript fundamentals and have shipped real
products with React and TypeScript. What you'll do: Build polished
experiences at scale. Work with design to ship great UI/UX, but
also own the less visible stuff that matters like page speed,
cross-browser support, mobile responsiveness. Master the product.
Develop deep expertise and opinions in what we're building. Work
with product and design to shape what we build, not just execute on
specs. Instrument and optimize. Implement observability for user
interactions, core web vitals, and perceived performance. Craft
frontend and product infrastructure. Contribute to build systems,
dev tooling, and deployment pipelines. Advocate for a better
developer experience. Build internal tools that help the team move
faster. Who you are: 6 years of experience working in a frontend
engineering role You have an eye for design. You have track record
of creating beautiful experiences for the web. You care deeply
about user experience and have an understanding of what might make
one UI better than another. You think in systems. You build
infrastructure that makes future features easier. You know when to
generalize and when to keep things specific. You're a self-starter.
You enjoy building 0 to 1. You're always looking for things that
could use some TLC and finding ways to make them better without
asking permission. You care about the details. You care about
micro-interactions. You think about what happens when the network
is slow, when data is missing, or when users do unexpected things.
You’re a good teacher. You know how to explain ideas and trade-offs
cross-functionally. You have opinions. You have thoughts on
different state management approaches, how to structure provider
hierarchies, and whether that hook should be extracted or kept
inline. You can articulate why you'd choose one abstraction pattern
over another. You're always learning. You've tried various coding
and AI tools just out of curiosity. You want to know what the
latest and greatest are and what problems they solve. What We
Offer: Salary Range: $265k - $330k Equity grant Medical, dental &
vision insurance Work from home flexibility Unlimited PTO Commuter
benefits Free lunches Paid parental leave 401(k) Employee
assistance program If you require reasonable accommodation in
completing this application, interviewing, completing any
pre-employment testing, or otherwise participating in the employee
