Program Coordinator (Outreach and Welcome Services)Special Instructions to Applicants - Los Medanos College (LMC) serves about 10,000 students who pursue transfer preparation, career education, and skill building. Located in East Contra Costa County, Los Medanos College is the only higher education institution in one of the fastest and continually growing regions of the East Bay. This department oversees the Welcome Center, Welcome Desk, the college's communication center, and high-school and community outreach. The department strives to be a leader in innovative, dynamic, and equitable services for each student. For more information, visit https://www.losmedanos.edu/studentservices/outreach/.Under the direction of the Director of Outreach & Welcome Services and working closely with the dynamic team of professional and student staff in the department, this Program Coordinator position focuses on supporting incoming students at the high schools and greater community through the college's enrollment process. This position works closely with high school partners (such as counselors and teachers) as well as community partners. This role is responsible for developing activities, coordinating events, and facilitating workshops that help students learn more about attending community college, and in particular Los Medanos College. Additionally, through individual and group settings this position works collaboratively with other departments to provide a comprehensive onboarding experience for new students. Furthermore, as a member of the Outreach & Welcome Services team, this person will provide general support and participation in department activities, on campus and off campus, as well as staffing for the Welcome Center and Welcome Desk as needed. Finally, As LMC continues to implement guided pathways through Learning, Major and Career Pathways, the responsibilities within this position may evolve and include direct student support as a member of student success teams.Note: New employees will be placed at the first step which is $5,351.00 per month, second step $5,622.00 per month or third step at $5,907.00 per month (depending upon experience). Based on current salary placement guidelines, all step increases for which an employee becomes eligible shall take place on July 1st of each fiscal year.
