QualificationsResponsibilities:The Manufacturing Design Engineer
(Laser Systems) will work on laser and optics in support of
manufacturing, new production introduction (NPI) and continuous
improvement projects (CIP)! Support the manufacturing and field
support teams on critical issues related to laser performance. Able
to work with manufacturing and field team independently to solve
sophisticated issues and provide achievable the plan of action

- Implement and refine build sequences specific to laser
alignment, optics integration, optics alignment and system
calibrations to meet build cycle times and product design
specifications.
- Maintain records and reporting systems for coordination of
manufacturing operations. Develop the required documentation to
support processes and provide training to technicians.
- Analyze manufacturing data from manufacturing via statistical
process control to drive process, specifications, and design
improvements.
- Enable to implement the failure analysis for failed parts from
manufacturing, field return to understand the root causes, to
provide the solutions to improve the yield and process
procedures.
- Harmonize with other design teams or groups to design
objectives and support the transfer of product/technologies for
release to manufacturing.
- Estimates manufacturing cost, resolves time standards, and
makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new
or existing product lines.
- Involved in concept development, proposal quotes, detailed
design, configuration definition, verification, qualification,
manufacturing specification and documentation of engineering
activities, which lead to improved product, increased output and
reduced cost.
- Setup and drive small team efforts that address product-level
optics/systems issues (7-Steps, supplier issues, manufacturing
customer concerns, characterization, or improvement projects).
Fully understands and applies the 7-Step problem solving
method.
- Potential travel both domestically and internationally up to
25% of the time.Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree (required) in Physics or relevant Science /
Engineering fields.
- Dedicated individual with keen technical ability, systematic
approach, excellent problem-solving skills, positive demeanor, and
standout colleague. Able to take the minimum instruction to work on
the assigned project alone.
- Understanding of system level interactions between optics,
electronics, and mechanical parts to enable effective problem
solving at the system level down to the individual piece part
level.
- Able to communicate effectively with peers, interdisciplinary
engineering groups, customers, vendors and across cultures. The
individual must also be able to effectively connect with a broad
range of people located in the US, Europe and Asia.
- Able to test and qualify laser, optical components,
electronics, modules. Able to work with suppliers to improve
incoming material quality and acceptance. Previous experience in
supplier development is a plus.
- Understanding of Deep UV (DUV) optics part cleanliness,
cleaning, and handling procedures.
- Able to read technical drawings, understand BOMs, and use a
variety of precision testing and measuring instruments.
- Demonstrated problem solving ability through design of
experiments and carry out tests to collect and analyze data. Able
to apply the 7-Step problem solving method consistently. Has
excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of Manufacturing IT systems (MES, CAD, etc.) a
plus.Minimum QualificationsMaster's Level Degree and 0 years
related work experience; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work
experience of 2 yearsBase Pay Range: $81,500.00 - $138,600.00
